Some Reasons Why A Hospitals Needs A Patient Lift Sling

According to the American Hospoital Association, there are a total of 6146 hospitals in the United States.

But this statistic can chang depending on how organizations classify each hospital type.

Hospitals will be the biggest end-users  of patient lift slings due to these healthcare facilities catering to a

large patient pool. The rise in surgeries and grievous injuries can support the growth of the segment.

61 million adults in the United States live with a disability. 26 percent (one in 4) of adults in the United States

have some type of disability. The percentage of people living with disabilities is highest in the South meaning

they require help with changing and using the toilet. When a hospital doesn't have a lift hoist , disabled people

may struggle to move or visit their family and friends. This is unacceptable, and not only puts their daily life at

difficulty but can leave them isolated.

In the US about 33% of nurses with lift equipment available frequently used the lift equipment to transfer their

patients. Recent surveilance from US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Occupational Safely

and Health Network indicates that lift equipmeny was not used for 82% of patient handling injuries and higher

injuries rates for non-use of equipment versus use.
